Hi, Frage:
Ich möchte übers LAN einen Filetransfer realisieren. In Betracht ziehe ich hier HTTP (über TidHTTP) oder FTP (über TidFTP). Was ist schneller? Habt ihr noch schnellere Methoden? Das ganze ist für den LanChat2 (siehe OpenSource-Sparte, bzw. www.LanChat2.de).

Win2k (und wenn ich nen Zweitrechner haette, auch eine Linux Distri)

beides gleich schnell. unterschiede nur, dass http header braucht und ftp zwei verbindungen braucht (kontroll und daten).

tcp oder udp würde ich persönlich nehmen!
es gab auch mal einen freak der ein onlinegame geschrieben hat, dass einen irc-server zum transfer benutzte ^^

ftp und http bauen auf tcp.

nimm tcp (oder hoeher), das ist fuer dateiuebertragungen besser geeignet als udp.

wikipedia kann dir ueber die relationen mehr sagen. einfach nach http oder ftp suchen, rechts ist ein schichtdiagramm.
