was kann delphi 3. Ist es rentabel oder nicht zu empfehlen? Wie alt ist delphi 3. Stabil oder nicht stabil. Ich möchte mir das buch delphi for kids mit delphi 3 kaufen. deshalb frage ich.

ich arbeite eigentlioch nur mit delphi3, das is noch relativ übersichtlich, und kann im grunde alles was man in späteren versionen auch kann
nur wenn du was mit nem andrem dbms als der bde machst siehts mit d3 mittlweile schlecht aus, da es kaum andere dafür gibt, ansonsten isses top ;D

Delphi 3 kann beispielweise keine dynamischen Arrays - mit ein bisschen Bastelarbeit allerdings auch kein Problem ;)

Delphi 3 kann schon ne ganze Menge.
Kommt ganz drauf an was für eine Erfahrung du mitbringst / was du machen willst.
Wenn du deine ersten Schritte im Bereich der Anwendungsentwicklung tun willst ist Delphi 3 mehr als ausreichend. Selbst Erweiterungen wie Suche in der Entwickler-Ecke INDY oder Suche in der Entwickler-Ecke DELPHIX gibt es auch für D3.
Natürlich hat Delphi 3 seine Einschränkungen wie z.B. dynamische Arrays und Frames, wenn ich mich richtig erinnere, was einen aber nicht wirklich großartig aufhalten sollte...

Btw: Delphi 3 Professional wird einigen Büchern als Vollversion zugegeben und ist dadurch schon für ca 20 Euro zu haben...

An der Mächtigkeit einer Programmiersprache ändern dynamische Arrays natürlich nicht grundlegend was, aber sie sind schon praktisch. Von daher würde ich eher zu einer höheren Version als 3 raten.

Klar, die neueren Versionen sind bedeutend komfortabler etc.
Aber dafür sind die älteren sehr günstig zu bekommen.
Und als Einsteiger / Reinschnupperer ist da der Preis ein zieml wichtiges Argument.
Selbst im Internetauktionshaus sind die neueren Versionen nur gegen teuer Geld zu bekommen.

Solange man nur kleine Anwendungen für den Eigengebrauch schreibt, ist Delphi 3 ausreichend. Ich hatte bis vor kurzem D3, jetzt D7. Der Grund war unter anderem, dass die Internet-Komponenten von D3 ein Alptraum sind.

Das Buch "Delphi für Kids" kann man sich auch erst einmal ausleihen, wenn eine anständige Bücherei in der Nähe ist...

Also,

"Delphi für Kids" wird in der Neuauflage mit D7-PE ausgeliefert. Die alte Auflage (mit D3pro) gibt's aber antiquarisch schon für ca. 10 Euro. Das habe ich hier im Forum irgendwo erst vor kurzem gelesen. Mußt mal in der Suche gucken.

Ich programmiere auch noch überwiegend in D3, die EXE's sind kleiner als bei D7.

mir würde schon reichen wenn dynamische arrays funzen würden, btw, gibts die ab delphi4 oder erst ab 5 ?

Hallo,

dynamische Arrays stehen ab Delphi 4 zur Verfügung.

man kann sie aber auch mit etwas Mehraufwand in Delphi 3 realisieren.
