Nach einigen Stunden Firefoxen :shock: schau ich zufällig mal in den Taskmanager und was sehen ich? 560 MB Speicherverbrauch. Ist das bei euch auch so? Habe mich schon informiert was man dagegen machen kann und einiges probiert aber bringt alles nichts. Weis jemand ob man da an noch was drehen kann?

Tritt bei mir auch auf.. Lösung hab ich nicht, ich start den einfach ab und zu neu.

560 MB??? Also meiner frisst derzeit 639MB private (930MB Virtual) ... Hatte aber durchaus auch schon 1,2GB und mehr (Private Bytes).

Ist ein bekanntes Phänomen beim FF. Einfach ab und an mal Restarten, dann passt das. Flash vermeiden, und Leetkey in gewissen Kombinationen auch nicht einsetzen (da scheint es Probleme zu geben). Anzahl der Addons gering halten hilft oftmals auch bereits recht gut.

Das ist normal.
Was heißt, normal ist das nicht. Aber bei Firefox üblich ;)

Das kann sowohl vom Speichercache als auch von Bugs kommen.

Grade ersteren kann man in der 3.xer Reihe nicht mehr so ohne weiteres einstellen.

Letzteres meint BenBE hier. LeetKey und LiveHTTPHeaders haben sich bei mir überhaupt nicht vertragen.

Ich muss den FF auch regelmäßig neu starten wenn ich intensiv Seiten angesurft, Videos geschaut etc. habe, weil sich der FF einfach vollfrisst. Scheint aber wohl allen so zu gehen.

Wenn ich den Tipp richtig verstehe, wird der Speicher nur ausgelagert, aber nicht freigegeben?

Brauchst Du auch nicht ausprobieren, bei mir zeigt diese Maßnahme keinerlei Wirkung.

123 MByte bei 2 Offenen Tabs. Und das schon seit ca. 4 Stunden. Version 3.5.7 mit Adblock Plus, Nußbaum Skin, FireBug und deutschem Wörterbuch

Ich hab das Problem seit FF3 praktisch gar nicht mehr. Gestern 180 MB nach 6 Stunden (ja, ich hab Urlaub...), unzähligen Youtube-Videos, 9 RSS-Feeds, mit mehreren Extensions (DownThemAll, FireFTP, NoScript, xMarks). Der FF startet bei mir mit um die 50MB, steigt dann innerhalb ca. einer halben Stunde auf 150 und bleibt dann in dem Bereich.

Es scheint dabei mit dem jeweiligen System zusammenzuhängen. Mit Windows XP SP3 auf dem Laptop habe ich auch teilweise sehr viel Speicherverbrauch, und das was dort auch nach einer Neuinstallation (auch des FF natürlich, also nix portable oder so) weiter so. Mit Windows Vista auf dem einen und Windows 7 auf dem anderen PC habe ich das Problem gar nicht.

Die Addons sind jeweils die gleichen und ich habe sonst auch nix anders im FF selbst eingestellt. Eigentlich kann ich mir aber auch nicht vorstellen, dass es an XP liegt. (Denn XP wird ja insbesondere bei FF Nutzern und Entwicklern sehr verbreitet sein im Gegensatz zu Vista. :mrgreen: )

FF läuft seit 8 Uhr hier (intensive nutzung) und hat aktuell nen Verbauch von 168mb bei ca 20 Addons...

Aber auch bei mir kommt das schonmal an 500-1000mb... Woran das liegt weiss ich nicht. Ich starte FF einfach neu wenn es mir zu viel wird.
